Congratulations to Baird Middle School Band Director, Ms. Taryn Smith, and the 7th and 8th grade Symphonic Band members for earning a High Bronze Medal at the April 1st Massachusetts Instrumental & Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) Concert Festival held at Belchertown High School.

Smith was ecstatic, and very proud, with the results stating, “This is the highest we’ve scored at MICCA in our three years of attending.  We were only one point away from the silver!”

According to their website the purpose of the MICCA  is “to encourage and support high performance standards by high school, middle school, and elementary school musical organizations. MICCA Concert Festivals encourage the improvement of a group's musical standards by providing musical adjudication by highly qualified adjudicators. Attendance at a festival also affords organizations an opportunity to hear performances by other groups and experience the presentation of a wide variety of musical literature.”
