Baird Middle School Principal, Stacy Monette, and Assistant Principal, Mary Dobek, were proud to welcome family, staff and the entire 8th grade class to the BMS gymnasium for the 8th Grade Celebration and Awards Ceremony on June 19th.  For the 8th grade class, this ceremony signified the conclusion of the last three years of hard work at the middle school, and the soon to be start of their high school journey.

Class members also remembered their missing classmate and friend, Eren Yanbul, who passed away on June 15th, after tragically drowning in a pool. To honor his fun and charismatic personality students placed a t-shirt of his favorite cartoon character- The Flash - along with the props used by Eren when he portrayed the Police Officer in the spring musical production of Annie, on an empty chair among his classmates. All who knew Eren agreed that although his physical presence was missed, his spirit was very much with them during the ceremony.

In addition to honoring the graduates, Monette also congratulated and thanked two BMS staff members who will be retiring at the end of the school year- Irene Pereira, BMS Chorus/Drama Teacher and Paulette Robillard, BMS Library paraprofessional.

Congratulations to the class of 2021, and best of luck as you continue to achieve your educational goals and dreams at Ludlow High School.  Click here to view the program from the evening's celebration.
