For the 3rd year in a row the Baird Middle School Band and Chorus programs received a generous donation of $1,050 from proceeds of the Annual Margolis Miles for Music 5K Run that took place this past October 15th. This annual event is organized by Dr. Michael Margolis of Margolis Orthodontics of Wilbraham.  All proceeds from the race benefits area middle school music programs not only in Ludlow but also in Wilbraham, Hampden, Monson, Palmer and East Longmeadow.

BMS Principal, Stacy Monette, and Assistant Principal, Mary Dobek, excitedly accepted the check from Dr. Margolis on Friday, January 19th. “Dr. Margolis has been very generous to the Baird Music Department,” said Monette. “We are very grateful to him and his staff for helping to supplement the music department budget.  This money will definitely help our students who are pursuing their musical talents.”

Anita Anderson-Cooper, BMS Chorus Teacher and Taryn Smith, BMS Band Director, echoed Monette’s sentiments, both elated when learning about the donation. They look forward to meeting with Monette in the near future to begin earmarking how the money will be spent to support their students.
